What is Palliative Care

Gentle care when comfort matters most.

The final stage of life deserves the same cultural respect, spiritual recognition and personal dignity as any other. At Bhakti Shyama, end of life care is provided within a home where Hindu and Hindu spiritual traditions are an everyday reality — not an afterthought. Prayers, religious rituals, the presence of family and community, and the comfort of familiar food and language are all part of how we support residents and their loved ones through this most sensitive of times.

Our end of life care covers clinical pain management, emotional and psychological support, spiritual care and full family involvement. We work closely with the NHS, community nurses and specialist palliative services — and we ensure that every resident's cultural and religious wishes are documented, respected and honoured without exception.

  • Care guided entirely by the resident's own wishes and cultural beliefs
  • Hindu and Hindu spiritual traditions respected and supported
  • Pain management and symptom control by qualified nurses
  • Emotional and spiritual support for residents and their families
  • Family and community visits welcomed without restriction
  • Advance care planning completed with sensitivity and cultural awareness
